  • Ruth L

Vendor Manager & Social Media Expert

Ruth grew up in Boise, Idaho but is originally from Helper. Her great grandfather was a coal miner at Castle Gate Coal Mine in the 1920’s and her family has resided in Helper ever since. She comes from a very artistic family. Her great grandmother was an amazing portrait artist and her grandfather has many artistic talents with paint, wood, and silversmithing. She loves that her family comes from a big part of Helper's history and has many qualities that Helper represents today as a growing art community. She has been making jewelry from stones and silver for many years now, and is excited to share her talents with the community during the Helper Saturday Vibes and Arts Festivals for years to come. Ruth studied biology and microbiology at Boise State University. After her internship at Palo Verde Nuclear Plant in Tonopah, Arizona she made her way back to Helper in 2021 where she has grown to love the small town life. She became a mother in 2023 and is working at Balance Rock Eatery as well. The flexibility of her jobs lets her spend most of her time with her son and doing things she loves such as traveling, creating jewelry, and spending time with her family.

  • Shayla Olson

    Bar Manager

My name is Shayla Olson or just Shay for short. I am a mom of two amazing kids and wife to the sweetest man in the world. I might be a little bit of a crazy dog lady with my 5 rescue dogs, but still enjoy volunteering at animal rescues, helping with clinics and transports. I also work for the GearUP program mentoring students and providing free tutoring to low income families.

I love all things art and photography, but also love most everything outdoors, including hiking, paddle boarding, fishing and camping. I am so excited to be a part of the amazing Helper Vibes events as the Bar Manager!

  • Jenny Taylor (She/her)

    Kids Activity Director

I’m proudly raised in Carbon County, Utah. I have a heart for working with kids and I'm thrilled to be a part of Helper Vibes this year. I’m a mom of an active toddler. When I'm not busy chasing down my little guy, you can find me immersing myself in epic adventures playing D&D or enjoying the great outdoors while camping. I’m a paraprofessional at Castle Valley Center, and love working with all our amazing students. I also volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, striving to make a positive impact on our community.

  • Ann Anderson

I was born in Salt Lake City but moved to Price when I was 4. After graduating from Carbon High School I went to SUU and then to the University of Utah. I married my high school sweetheart and we moved back to Price in 2004 with our two kids. We are the third generation to run my husband’s family business, Eastern Utah Broadcasting. I love living in Carbon County. The community is a great place to raise a family. I want to do my part to make this community continue to grow with both tourism and business expansion. We need to make our community a place where our youth want to stay and make a life.

  • Katie Gurule

I was born in Price and grew up in Helper (we lived in Spring Canyon/Castle Gate Subdivision). After marrying my Junior High sweetheart we moved to Spring Glen and have been there ever since. We raised our two children here. I have always taken great pride in our community, including the schools I attended. I am excited for the rejuvenation of Helper and look forward to the future of our area.

  • Rudy Castro

I grew up in California & the Salt Lake Valley. I currently live in Price, Utah. I fell in love with Helper because of the love they have for art. I feel as though I’ve found a home where I can share my art and raise a family. I love how supportive the community is when it comes to being open and receptive to other cultures. I appreciate the opportunities that have been offered to me.

  • CJ McManus

I was born and raised in East Carbon and have lived in Carbon County for all 42 years of my life. I recently moved to Main Street in Helper and have since discovered the most wonderful community. Helper is a vibrant and loving place to live. I am so honored to be a part of this year’s Advisory Committee as Saturday Vibes has added so much musical culture and fun to the area. As great as the music and entertainment was last year, what made Vibes great to me was the way in which locals and tourists alike came together to enjoy the events and one another.

  • Brittnie Nichole

I grew up in Texas and Emery & Carbon County. I currently live in Price, UT. I’ve always grown up in a small town and love the small town community. I’ve always strived to do my part and give back when I can. I love that whenever someone is down and out they can count on our community to help them through. They say it takes a village and that’s exactly what we have here.
